About me and why FunStuff really exists
Funstuff.at doesn't exist because I wanted to have "a shop too".
And not because I decided at some point to build a brand.
Funstuff exists because I eventually understood what happens when you censor yourself for too long.
I was in a spiritual system for a long time where someone very subtly, but very consistently, taught me how to evaluate things. What's right. What's wrong. What's "conscious." What's "unconscious." And my humor wasn't just unwelcome there, it was suspect. It was overanalyzed, overinterpreted, and in the end, every joke was some shitty lesson I still needed to learn or work through.
At some point you realize: You no longer laugh freely.
You no longer think freely.
You no longer speak freely.
You become cautious.
You will be adapted.
And you begin to cut yourself out of your own life so that you fit into a system that only accepts you as long as you are "right".
Funstuff is my way of escaping this way of thinking.
I started the shop because I wanted to create my own space. A place where no one has to dissect my humor to control it. A place where a sentence can simply be a sentence. And where a joke can once again be what it always was: an outlet, an attitude, a form of freedom.
I run Funstuff because I believe that humor is more than just entertainment.
Humor is resistance against bullshit.
Humor is a rejection of this eternal "Be less you".
Humor is the moment when you no longer apologize for not fitting the mold.
And that's exactly why my designs are the way they are.
You won't find any platitudes here.
No watered-down slogans.
No "cute" humor that doesn't hurt anyone.
Funstuff is humor with attitude.
Sometimes dark. Sometimes cheeky. Sometimes exactly where others get nervous. Not to provoke, but to be honest.
And now comes the most important point, why I do this, and why people want to wear it.
Because so many of us have learned to make ourselves small.
Because so many people know exactly what they think, but don't say it out loud.
Because so many people function in jobs, families, or relationships instead of living.
Funstuff design is not fashion.
It's a statement you wear when you're fed up with bending over backwards.
You're not wearing it to be liked.
You wear it because it feels good to be you again.
And if you recognize yourself in that, then you've come to the right place.
Welcome to FunStuff.
We don't laugh here because it's tame.
We laugh because it's liberating.
